Jennifer Duan
Founder and President

Ms. Jennifer Duan founded X-wave Innovations, Inc. with a vision to solve the most challenging problems and meet the needs of our customers through innovative technologies and solutions. She brings into X-wave Innovations over 20 years of operational experience in government contracting and services, marketing, business system implementations and management, customer solutions and relationships, as well as information technologies. She received her B.A. degree in Liberal Arts and M.S. degree in Computer Science. Ms. Duan has an extensive background in managing all aspects of company operations, including government policies and compliance, contracting, marketing, financing, human resources, and customer services. Her diverse operational experience and commitment to customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance ensure the success and continuous growth of X-wave Innovations.

Dan Xiang
Co-founder and Vice President

Dr. Dan Xiang has over 35 years of experience in cutting-edge R&D and technology transitioning/commercialization. He received both his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University, one of top-two universities in China, where he joined the faculty and was promoted as one of the university’s youngest associate professors in 1992. He moved to the US in 1994, and received a M.S. degree in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University in 2002. Before founding X-wave Innovations, he had worked with several government agencies (NASA, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)), Universities (Tsinghua University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland), and commercial companies over a variety of projects from materials to nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring (NDE/SHM) to ultrasound to sensor systems to information technologies. He holds 4 issued patents, 7 pending patents, and has over 70 publications in the field of sensor technologies and NDE/SHM. He is managing and directing company-wide strategies and efforts in both innovative technologies development and technical transitioning/commercialization.

Facilities
With 5,000+ sqft designated office and lab spaces, XII has modern facilities and equipment, along with a full suite of engineering hardware and software, to conduct cutting-edge R&D work in our specialties. Our 5 experimental labs are dedicated to Acoustics/Ultrasonics, NDE/SHM, Sensor Technologies, Electronics Systems, and Optics/Photonics. We also have a Machine Room to support R&D and prototyping.
